About Government Medical College Badaun

Government Medical College (GMC), Badaun, established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, began hospital services in 2015 and started its MBBS program in 2019 with an annual intake of 100 students.

The college campus covers a spacious 106 acres and meets all National Medical Commission (NMC) requirements.

Academic programs and training Undergraduate: MBBS (annual intake 100).

Postgraduate: Started in Anatomy and Community Medicine; additional postgraduate programs are in progress.

DNB/Diploma: Offered in Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Ophthalmology, and TB & Chest.

Allied health: B.Sc. Nursing and various paramedical courses are available. Clinical services and infrastructure The hospital provides comprehensive clinical services and has expanded infrastructure to meet growing healthcare needs.

Recent capacity building includes installation of a Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) plant and a CT scan facility.

The institution adheres to NMC norms for teaching and clinical care. Campus life and accommodation Residential facilities are provided for students and staff, including separate hostels for girls and boys, housing for senior residents, nurses, faculty, and other staff.

Local and cultural highlights Badaun is historically and culturally significant. The city is known for the Jama Masjid built during the reign of Iltutmish and for nearby holy sites on the Ganga—Kachla Ganga Ghat (approx. 25 km) and Soroji (approx. 35 km).

It is associated with the birthplace of the revered saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya and has produced notable literary figures such as Shakeel Badayuni.
